What Is Yoga Nidra?
'Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously; it is an effortless state of being in true relaxation'.
Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation; it does not focus on asanas (postures) but on deep relaxation.
During the practice of Yoga Nidra, you appear to be asleep, but your consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness – you enter a deep state of conscious sleep; you go into a profound state of relaxation, all the while remaining totally aware throughout.
Relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences.
Yoga Nidra is the most restorative and relaxing techniques and has many physical, emotional and mental benefits.
You are lying down for the entire practice and guided through a very specific routine and guided meditations & visualisations that promote deep relaxation - leaving you feeling refreshed, restored and very relaxed.
Yoga Nidra is an ‘adaptogen’ meaning it adapts to what you need at the time of the practice – if you are tired, it will help you sleep; if you are stressed, it will help to relieve worries and anxieties; if you are feeling under the weather, it will help your body replenish and heal.
The practice of Yoga Nidra connects you to your true self. It can open up creative ideas; help you solve problems or answer questions and release any negative patterns of behaviour.
